My Memors of H & T Rehearsals

"

"Yaaron Ji Bharke Ji Le Pal, Lagata Hai Aajkal Daur Apana Aayega "

Monday - July 6th 7.00 am making my Bru Instant coffee I was sub consciously humming "Tum Jo Na Hoo..To yeh Dil Na Kahin Lageree..".My jar headiness’ was imperative when I had my senses back I started humming "Saawariyaa" sipping my coffee...its "THE HAPPENING" - HUM TUM has made it into my subconscious brain cells .While "THE AWAKENING" happens and life takes on me, I thought I should put this down on "HISTORY WALL " of Jashn. Here I am dedicating this blog to each one of HUM TUM Junta.

In-famous for my email to the team which landed from NO MAN's land into your inboxes , I was christened "THE SHYAM"...so on and so forth ..Into the memory lane!

Memory Lane - it was during Sept 08 when we did our Auditions for "Images of India Show" by Ahsa at Berkley; that Vidya first floored on the idea of Hum Tum. She hinted that she was planning to script and boom the ball started rolling. With fresh memories of performing "breathless, nazare milana" on stage vidya was already into HUM TUM mode. As it is said "Journey is what brings people together in their quest to reach the DESTINATION". So , was my Journey from the days when we first did our musical "SAHANA" till "HUM TUM". I have met wonderful people and associated myself with them at different levels.

Not to forget those yummy pot locks, coffee and the every smiling Vidya's mom who was always looking forward to energize us with her cooking. I was always looking forward for the food...being single...you cannot afford to miss home food. My first attendance was at the kitchen followed by a "Hi..to the el captiane (vidya)". Rehearsals were the de stress time offs from work for me with the singing we did. Doing the SHOW was just an extension or a logical destination for me. As days went by I was looking forward for more such rehearsals and HUM TUM is surely the “ICING “so far .

Being selfless, having the right attitude, be open to change and stand up for the occasion is something I understood in the process. Having said that I still can't digest that I danced for a song..Holy Cow...seeing all you dance..I am happy that mine was a history. But I stood up for the occasion when Neeru needed dancers’ . I still have fresh memories when Vidya & Ravi sang a song called "SAHANA" ( just like "KANEER" ) my ears would be longing to listen to them sing. My jaws use to drop down when they sang it :-) . With "Hum Tum " rehearsals I see a must confident , energetic & positive attitude junta whose "Let's ROCK ON" attitude imprints my MEMORS -

  • Rishi's Bindass introduction , Nikit's "VOWEL" sounding pronunciations , Neha's graciousness to carry out the acts , Pooja's powerful dialogue delivery, Ravi's multi facet talence in acting and singing , Vivek's smart pants macho look !
  • Rashi's oodles of energy, Shradha's expressive Kali Ankhen during dance moves , Srividya's perfection in her dance moves , Anu's confidence in her moves , Gaura's casualness , Deepa's mutitasking abilities from dancing to painting, Aparna's perfect dance moves & not to forget Mr & Ms Mishra , Jasin for his casual dialouge delivery "Sir , bar is closed "
  • Banu , Jayanti , Yamini , venkatesh , Nandini , Stuti for their patience and efforts to raise the bar
  • To all the budding smart guys - Sabesan , Jag's , Arun , Sateesh for their moves and pure energy . To all those whose names I missed - you are the STARS !
  • Strawberry & Saawariya dancers just skeech my heart when I sing for them. Its a great challenge for me to emote the feeling in my voice & lyrics when they dance !

I can write a separate blog on each of you, but will keep this short & sweet.

Last but not the least Sisters DUO & their parents- who always push the limits and think about the bigger picture. Can't say less or more about them. They are the sole reason for me to be writing this! With fresh ideas from the think tanks ( Vidya / Neeru/ Ravi ) and the burning desire to provide the audience a unique experience , we have surely raised the bar .

We hanged out , we had fun during these rehearsals , we stepped on each other's ego , we said what the heck these are my buddies , we smiled at each other and gave a hug or pat on the back. When we walked out from the floor we had a sense of accomplishment and meaning for that day in our lives.

All good things find their end soon, but it's people who reinvent themselves everytime to cherish the bonding. HUM TUM is and will be a SUCESS story ,but we have to find ways to keep this group alive and going ..."Dil Chahta Hai, Kabhi Na Beete Chamkile Din,Dil Chahta Hai, Hum Na Rahe Kabhi Yaaron Ke Bin" .As a group we still should have this open culture going which will provide us with limitless opportunities and help us find the "MEANING" for the passion we all share !
